More new things

Cinnamon has discovered moles - we don't get them in Ireland as they didn't make it across the land-bridge, just like the snakes.  Or maybe they, too, were banished by St. Patrick.

Oh, what's that smell...

dig..dig..dig..I'm sure I'll dig them out...

Then she met this chap at the back of the Paella stand at the Cereste market.

Caption suggestions, anyone?

This is a better photo of the carriage at La Florentine (just for Denis!).  It's called a caleche.

In the tourist season, Popeye the horse carries people around in it to earn his keep.  Popeye is a Comtois horse.  This is a very old draught breed which comes from the Jura mountain region between France and Switzerland.  Popeye's colouring is typical - they are any shade of chestnut, with a flaxen mane and tail - a bit like a large Haflinger!

This is Popeye's best friend,
the miniature donkey

They are out "on holiday" with some youngsters

  1. If you could teach Sinnyman to get some truffles while shes down there...That looks like a nice rig and Popeye would look just the part. I like the look of him.Cant think of a caption just now...Small dog meets big fish...

  2. Cinnamon witnesses the sticky end of Billy the Singing Sea Bass?
(google it if you've never heard of him!)

  3. Nawwwwh! I miss my cinnamon!! Looks like a right fish out of water?
